Pine River Hammock Park

Located adjacent to the DNR Charlevoix Fisheries Research Station along the grassy area next to the sidewalk on the south side of the Pine River Channel, this project was completed by the Junior Main Street Committee in 2020 consisting of students from Charlevoix High School as part of the Charlevoix Main Street DDA.

Park visitors may utilize the hammock poles by bringing their own hammocks or by borrowing one from the Charlevoix Public Library.  The library has five hammocks available between April 1st - October 31st each year. The hammocks were donated by the City of Charlevoix Recreation department.

Access to the Hammock Park by car is easiest Grant Street to the end of Palmer Street. Parking is available in a newly upgraded paved parking lot. The address of the park is 115 Palmer Street, Charlevoix.

A special thanks to those that who have donated to this project: Charlevoix’s DCL, INC., Charlevoix Public Library, Friends of the Charlevoix Public Library, Greg and Brenda Bryan, Amy & David Gray, Charlevoix Rotary Club, Charlevoix Kiwanis Club, Sean & Carla Bradley, and the Charlevoix County Community Foundation.
